HOW IT BEGAN
I’m Chelsea Strong—the Founder & CEO of ROI ByDesign—NYC-trained designer turned multifamily owner-operator, with 18+ years designing spaces and 500+ units across a $55M portfolio keeping me very honest about what actually drives ROI.

I launched ROI ByDesign after watching too many renovations eat capital without giving owners anything back. Design was my first career, investing was my second… and the intersection is where I have engineered $150–$700 rent lifts, faster lease-ups, and assets that finally perform the way the pro forma promised.

I design like someone who has had to justify every CAPEX dollar to a lender—and still hit numbers (because I’ve had to).
​
When I’m not boosting the ROI of communities, I’m horseback riding with my best four-legged friend, Nougat, hiking with my husband, or reading a book with our new pup snoring next to me.
Good design changes lives.

During a visit to Bangalore india, we connected with Building Blocks, a school serving children in India’s most underserved communities. What we saw was powerful: Education paired with nutrition. Life skills taught alongside language. A full-circle model giving kids not just learning—but a launchpad.

It hit home. And it aligned.

Starting in 2025, we committed a portion of our profits to support this work.​
